I keep leaving things at His feet… then circling back to see if He picked them up.
Hi Guys! Happy Wednesday. We love a good midweek check-in. I hope your week is going good thus far.
Let’s be real: struggles and trials are exhausting. Sometimes it feels like no matter how hard you pray, nothing is moving. And if you’re anything like me, you’ve had moments where you want to just give up.
As a Christian, you know the answer is to trust God and give it all to Him. That sounds easy, right? But here’s the truth: just because you know what to do doesn’t mean you’re automatically good at it.
From my point of view as a baby Christian, this is one of the hardest parts of the walk. I know God is real. I know He’s listening. I know He won’t leave me or forsake me. But I’m also human. And for years I was used to figuring things out my own way. So now when I try to leave things at the Lord’s feet, I find myself circling back like, “Uh, Lord… did You take care of this yet, or is it still sitting here?” 😂
And you know what? God already knew I’d do that. He knew I’d circle back. He knew I’d struggle with letting go. And He still calls me to trust Him anyway.
Here’s the big lesson I’ve had to accept: God is the ONLY one who knows everything. He knows why the door is closed. He knows why another one opened. He knows the reason for the test you’re in right now. It may feel like the worst timing ever.
As humans, we want logic. We want things to make sense. Like, why would God tell me to put on rain boots when it’s 90 degrees and the sun is blazing? It makes no sense. Until later that day, a storm nobody predicted rolls in. Suddenly, the thing that looked crazy was the very thing that prepared me.
That’s how God works. You may not see it now. It may not make sense now. But He’s always preparing you.
The world will offer you quick escapes. Drinking, sex, smoking, vaping, scrolling honestly whatever numbs the pain. And sure, it will work for a moment. But those things fade. They’re temporary. And when they wear off, the storm is still there.
God, on the other hand, doesn’t offer temporary relief. He offers peace that holds you through the storm. A peace that doesn’t depend on circumstances, logic, or what you see. A peace that says: “Be still, I’ve got you.”
So if you’re struggling right now, let me remind you: it’s okay to feel weak. It’s okay to admit you don’t have it all together. But don’t quit. Don’t pick back up what you already gave God. He’s preparing you for something you can’t see yet. And one day, it’ll all make sense.
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding.” Proverbs 3:5
Reflective Question: What is one thing you need to finally leave at God’s feet this week — and not take back?
